David Kenward has a background in sports competition and he knows very well the stress, pressure and drive to win. He understands the frustration when an athlete's potential in practice doesn't come out in competition. This is why he specializes in helping athletes that know what to do but can't do it under pressure. His passion is helping people succeed, especially in competition.
From serving as a Navy Corpsman in a Naval Hospital Emergency Room and then working long hours in business while attending college, to working for large companies in both the public and private sector, David Kenward, The Mental Coach has used mental training tools to manage stress, keep focused and improve performance.
His experiences working in the emergency room made him a believer in the mind/body connection. This started his journey of learning more and more tools to boost human potential. He used this research to expand the basic visualization tools he'd learned into powerful mental training tools that help you overcome whatever is holding you back - QUICKLY.
Family and fun
His passions also include his family (his wife and "four-footed children"), his old Norton 750 Commando motorcycle, hiking, traveling and camping. He loves the mountains and is fortunate to live in Sacramento, California, where an hour of driving gets him up to the Sierra Nevada mountains. But the special travel spot in his heart is Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, where he and his wife got married (click here for a great picture) and go back every year to look at one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Companion animals are an important part of his life. When he speaks to groups about Winning the Mental Game and Performing Under Pressure, he illustrates key points by telling humorous stories about the adventures of their dogs Apollo (Doberman Pinscher), Allie (Black Lab) and the new kid Orion (Doberman Pinscher).
David Kenward - The Mental Coach is a member of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
